Batik Indonesia, Tasik Batik Village, Tasikmalaya, West Java, Indonesia : Batik Villages of Indonesia


Batik Tasik has become one of the attractions richness of Indonesian culture. If you passed Tasikmalaya, visit one of the batik tasik villages in Cigeureung (Cipedes), Tasikmalaya, West Java. 

It will be one interesting alternative of your destination trip, as well as batik shopping.

It's not crowded like the batik center in Solo or Pekalongan, but, Cigeureung begun to pick up again. After being sunk in the 1990s, now Batik Tasik began to rise and show its uniqueness.  

Some stores and shops are popping up in center of batik Cigeureung, Cipedes to greet the batik fans in Indonesia and the world.
UNESCO has declared Batik as the cultural heritage that has made batik more vibrant and popular to the world.
Batik Tasik is still crawling. There is a strong stretching, but not as advanced as other central batik areas such as Solo, Pekalongan and Jogjakarta.  

However, now Batik Tasik back to life and show its beauty.

Batik Tasik consists of batik tulis (handmade) and batik cetak (prints). Batik tulis has a higher value due to detail workmanship and it’s required longer processing time.  

Batik tulis also usually done by experienced craftsmen and mastered pattern making.

The beauty of batik Tasik made ​​it different from other regions. Motif or pattern that is used generally themed flora and fauna that exist in the land of Pasundan.

Fauna commonly used motifs/patterns such as deer, peacocks, spiders, butterflies, and many others animals.  


Meanwhile, floral motifs/pattern dominated by plants of jasmine, clove, nusa indah and putri malu.

Most of the batik tasik have bright colors, like orange, pink, purple, red, blue and green.
